Haunted Factory Chocolate Session

Please call to book: 518-251-4438.

We’re on hiatus until March 2022! School groups – call us to schedule a winter session.

Price for 2-3 people is $30/person. Price for 4-8 people is $25/person. Discount shows up in your shopping cart!!!

Our maximum for the room is 8 people.

The Haunted Factory Chocolate Session focuses on our haunted history and finishes off with participants making sweet chocolate ghosts. While we will cover real-life unexplained events and sometimes mysterious historical facts, the session is rated PG-13. Mature kids are welcome to join the group, up to their guardians’ discretion.

We’ll give you first hand accounts of some creepy happenings combined with the sometimes mysterious, sometimes tragic, often scandalous history of our very old building and grounds.

After we’ve covered the paranormal, we’ll go to our Experience Room where you’ll be able to make your own chocolate ghost to take home.

This one hour creepy session is for small groups of 2-8 and is perfect for pre-dinner fun.

The price is the same for children as for adults – as each person will be making, taking and eating the same amount of chocolate…regardless of age!

To book: 1st select your date, then enter the quantity as number of people. There is a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 people per session. Then simply complete the checkout process.

$30/person for 2-3 people; $25/person for 4-8 people. Discount appears in shopping cart.

Price of admission includes a 10% discount in our Factory Store immediately after/during the session.

Requirements: Closed toe shoes, hair tied back and dress comfortably!

Q: Can I just stop by the shop and walk into an experience you already have scheduled?

A: No. All experiences are pre-booked and pre-paid. Unless you scheduled through a third party (such as SUNY ADK, summer camps, bus tours, etc.), they are all private. The family you see in our Experience Room paid for their group to be treated like the royalty they are. Good news – with just a little planning, you can be treated like royalty too!

Q: Why are you so strict about that?

A: Space, staffing, preparation. Our Experience Room can only seat 8 people, and we schedule staff needed for booked experience days. In addition, all of our experiences have an element of chocolate making. We prepare the correct amount of chocolate and have it tempered for your arrival. This experience leaves no room for winging it.

Q: What if I don’t see the date I want?

A: Please give us a call at 518-251-4438 to see if we have availability. Sometimes we have a cancellation or will make an exception if we have the staffing to accommodate your group.

Q: I have a 2 year old with me, do I have to pay for her?

A: If your 2 year old cherub will not be participating in the chocolate making, then you will not be charged for her.

Q: You know, I’ve been to other chocolate companies and their tours are free, why do you charge?

A: This is not a tour. It’s an educational session, or a haunted session, with time for you to make your own chocolate creations. If you don’t have the time or want to pay for an experience, we invite you to check out our small Exhibit Room and look at our educational plaques and video.

Q: You say to wear comfortable shoes, so I take it we’re going to walk a lot?

A: No. This is not a guided walking tour; we are a small family run business in a small building. You will be standing, but your FitBit won’t be logging any serious mileage.

Q: Hold on, you mean we won’t be allowed to go into your offices, attics, storage rooms or interrupt your chocolate production?

A: No. Also, you won’t be able to do that at any other factory tour at any other company we’ve ever heard about either.

Q: OK, but how about wheelchair accessibility?

A: We can accommodate most standard wheelchairs. Please make us aware ahead of time so we can arrange our chocolate making room to make it as comfortable as possible.

Q: COVID-19, what’s the protocol?

A: We adjust according to the current laws of our state. At this time, we are not requiring you to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccine (though we assure you that our entire staff is fully vaccinated). We simply recommend that if you are not vaccinated, you wear a mask. We will neither require you or shame you into wearing one…or not wearing one. Your choice, your comfort level. If you’re at all nervous about the virus and its variants, we’ll be here for you when things calm down. Pandemic or no pandemic, we always clean and sanitize our rooms and equipment. You will have the opportunity to use the bathroom, wash your hands and use hand-sanitzer. You will be given disposable gloves as well.

Q: What if I have to cancel?

A: We understand things happen. Please give us at least 24 hours notice and we’ll refund your money or reschedule your session.

Q: My session begins at 1:00, when should we arrive?

A: Five minutes before your session is all that is required. Arriving 30 minutes early won’t get you in any earlier, and arriving 30 minutes late means we are going to rush your experience to ensure the next experience can start on time. Otherwise, we’ll cancel your reservation.

Q: I feel like you didn’t cover every possible scenario here…what if I have more questions?

A: Please call us at 518-251-4438.
